About the Restaurant
211 Main Street Restaurant & Bakery is a beloved lunch spot right in the heart of downtown Lavonia. This Mennonite-style café is known for its comforting home cooking, fresh-baked breads, and incredible desserts made from scratch. When you sit down, you’re immediately welcomed with a basket of their delicious tea breads while you look over the menu. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and it’s the kind of place where the food feels homemade and the service is always friendly.
What I Ordered
On my visit, I ordered the ½ meatloaf panini with a bowl of their homemade potato soup. The panini was warm and hearty with classic comfort flavors, and the potato soup was creamy and delicious — perfect for a cozy lunch. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, which makes sense since they bake all their breads and desserts in-house.

Room for desert! One of my favorite parts of the experience is when the waitress brings a dessert tray to your table. I chose a slice of old-fashioned lemon meringue pie, and it was absolutely amazing. Light, tangy, and topped with fluffy meringue — plus my plate was beautifully decorated with spring flowers!

Final Thoughts

Whenever I’m in Lavonia, 211 Main Street Restaurant & Bakery is always a must-stop. Between the homemade food, the incredible desserts, and the welcoming atmosphere, it’s a place that never disappoints. If you love good home cooking and a dessert that feels like it came straight from grandma’s kitchen, you’ll definitely want to add this spot to your list.
