A Local Favorite for Breakfast and Lunch in Clayton
A review by Heather Bogue
Overview
Located in the heart of Clayton, The Rusty Bike Cafe is a beloved local spot that delivers classic American breakfast and lunch favorites with genuine Southern hospitality. Known for serving breakfast all day and offering generous portions, this cafe consistently impresses locals and travelers alike with both the quality of its food and the friendliness of its team.
What We Tried
During our visit, we enjoyed a hearty Western omelet, packed with savory ingredients, including ham, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and topped with cheddar cheese. Served with delicious hashbrowns and toast…a classic breakfast done right!

“The Karen” French Toast. This dish is amazing! “The Karen” includes sweetened cream cheese between two pieces of Hawaiian French toast topped with mixed fruit compote. The French toast stood out for its texture and flavor, combining sweet and creamy elements that elevated a breakfast staple. The menu includes several french toast options…including Banana Bread French Toast that sounds yummy too!

Atmosphere
The Rusty Bike offers a casual, family-friendly environment that reflects the laid-back charm of North Georgia. Decor includes fun motorcycle-inspired accents that give the space character without overshadowing the main attraction — the food. Whether you’re grabbing coffee and breakfast or lunch with family, the atmosphere feels welcoming and unpretentious.
Final Thoughts
Consistently delicious food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere make The Rusty Bike one of our favorite go-to places for breakfast or lunch in North Georgia. Whether you’re starting your day with a hearty breakfast or stopping for a midday meal during a mountain drive, this café is well worth the visit.
